2016 Election Dates to Remember

February 1, 2016: Deadline to Register to Vote for the March 1st Primary


EARLY VOTING: 

February 10-23 (Except February 15th) Early Voting for the March 1st Primary

 Mondays: 8:00 am-4:30 pm (Closed  Monday Feb 15th for Presidents Day)

 Tuesdays8:00 am-4:30 pm

 Wednesdays8:00 am-4:30 pm

 Thursdays: 8:00 am-5:30 pm

 Fridays: 7:00 am-4:00 pm

 Saturdays: 9:00 am- 12:00 pm

 Location: Bedford County Courthouse Basement, Election Commission Office. 

 A Federal or State Issued Photo ID is Required to be eligible to vote.


March 1, 2016: SUPER TUESDAY  Election Day (Presidential Primary)

For the March 1st Primary, the voter must choose a primary ballot (Republican or Democrat) for this election.  A primary is the parties choosing their nomination to be placed on the general ballot in November.  Also,  the voter must show a Tennessee or Federal issued photo ID to vote.

2016 Bedford County Election Information

Tennessee Photo ID Law

Beginning January 1, 2012, all voters must present an ID, meeting the requirements below, containing the voter’s name and photograph, whether voting early or on Election Day. Any of the following IDs may be used, even if expired:

  • Tennessee drivers license with your photo
  • Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security photo ID
  • Tennessee handgun carry permit card with your photo
  • United States Passport and Passport Card 
  • Photo ID issued by the federal or Tennessee state government, such as an employee ID from the U.S. Department of Energy with your photo
  • United States Military photo ID, including a Veteran Identification Card
